NILLO

Nillo is a Producer and DJ based in San José, Costa Rica, founder and activist at Random Collective Records, Radio Bemba and Programa Espacial Indígena Latinoamericano (web platforms dedicated to investigate and showcase latin and indigenous music and art). His music is deeply influenced by elements of the tribal communities around him and traces of rough and dark afro latin music from the past, and he often mixes it with deep and slow organic beats to come up with inspiring productions.

He accepted to join the Ethno Kult network, and for his EthnoKast he decided not to provide us his last multicultural electronic tracks, but a carefully dug selection of forgotten disks and lost tapes, a work of a trained and sensitive ear.

He already had the opportunity to work with many acknowledged or underground labels such as Akumandra, Sounds and Colours, Canal Dub, Frente Bolivarista, Cosmic Awakenings, Tropical Twista Records, WOS, Fertil Discos, Casa Caos, Eabi Sabi, Random Collective Records, Tepeme Music, Quiero Recordings, Shango Records, Akasha Records or Kybele...

He also likes to translate his nightmares into small stories and his visions into collages,  feeding “Mostros” his second alter ego. Fortunately, "Mostros" was kind enough to let his EthnoKast's artwork available for our eyes' pleasure.
