Pierre  OW   (POW)  /  BEAT BROTHER

Pierre Ow is a Brussels-based & self-taught multidisciplinary creator. During the winter, he stays in his homestudio, producing music under his alias Beat Brother. During the summer he stays in his shed where he paints portraits on canvas under his street artist nickname "Pow".

Between those two seasons, he experiments hybrids creations with new media and for that, what is better than to create his own concept ? That is how was born his woody sculptures creation concept called "Wood It Yourself".

Wood It Myself #1 : "The Born"
(entire collection here)
The sculpture project he develops is a geometrical concept of laser-cut wood pieces that all have a mathematical relationship of scale and size. In order to distribute this, Pierre Ow presented 2 collections:
  • Wood It Myself #1 (The Born): This collection with natural colors lets get out of the ground 11 abstracts forms from which we can already detect mystical forms of life.
  • Wood It Myself #2 (Holy Looks): This collection lets discover 11 developped animals and sacred deities. Each piece hides at least 4 holy looks.
He is currently working hard on building a third collection way bigger.

His main creed? Being "creactive". For this hyperactive guy, art is the answer to express himself, and it can take multiple forms.

"There are no limits to media and technics, and to me curiosity is more of a quality than a default!"

Working with a by season workflow can lead to a meeting between different technics, and one art form can definitely influence another. Below is an example of how his sculpture work inspired one of his graffiti.
