H20H2O is the experimental live project of Marjo. She improvises a lot, using analog gear, samples, field recordings and filters, to explore spaces and noises. From ambient and downtempo sounds to faster breaky & minimal atmospheric techno, she adjusts her style to her mood and the public's, for a mental journey only her knows the destination (and sometimes she does not).
She joined the machine world at the age of 7, when receiving her first handmade computer, built by her father, a computer analyst. Soon, she started hacking PC games, the entry door of an endless geek odyssey. After several years of music theory and piano lessons, she started making playlists, from Ed Bangers record to wavy hip hop, Free Jazz and psychedelic rock.
Getting in a rave party for the first time in 2012, she bought her first gear the same year: a Korg Emx Groovebox. Since then, she has been part of different music projects and collectives from the underground scene, travels, and mental multidimensional brain trips all leading to one undefined error, 404 issue : H2O.

Based in Paris, she is one of the last artists to have joined Curuba Records, bringing her hardware knowledge to make their jams pumpier and add to a more minimalistic approach to the electro-organic sound of the friendly crew.
Deeply influenced by the rave scene, she learned a new music approach after her first trip in Brazil.
By sampling latin instruments and natural elements, she reminds carnaval scents and lysergic dreams. |
