MARACUYAFrench musician traveller Maracuyá is our 8th EthnoKaster. Co-founder (with NILLO) of the Random Collective label based in Costa Rica, she became an acknowledged DJ and producer of the regional World/Downtempo scene.
Maracuyá's productions and sets are meant to be loaded with melancholy, introspection, darkness and light, enchanting exoticism and imagined dreamlands. She brought back from her numerous travels in Tropical countries some afro-native deep grooves, contagious percussions to aboriginal timeless chants… For her, what she does is a tribute to eclecticism, self-exploration and mind travelling. |
With the Random Collective, they wanted to offer something new to the current musical and events landscape in San José (CR).
Now they organise not-for-profits parties where slow dance & ethnic music merges with organic and jungle-like video mapping, motion design and decorations. |
She has seen some of her productions on sweet downtempo labels such as Tropical Twist Records (BR), Casa Caos (BR) and our friends of Curuba (FR), and on her own indeed.
