RISA

Cumbia and Slow Beats, Downtempo and Techno-ish stories are  the core sound of Risa, our 20th EthnoKaster. Influenced by the sounds of International and urban tones as well as the underground scene of Mexico city in the 90s, Risa began his Dj journey in 2005 on ancient sacred Mayan grounds. 

​After he landed in British Columbia in 2008, he decided right away to involve himself in the Sound System culture. Since 2010, Risa has been a regular on the Canadian East coast festival circuit, having performed notably at Eclipse Festival, Space Gathering, Open Mind, Timeless and others.

A Bemba night w/ Xique Xique
Risa found his roots again in Tulum where the genres he masters are more popular than ever, performing in outdoor clubs or private jungle gatherings. 

If he goes back to Mexico often, his home now is still Québec, where he frequently join his crews of Cosmovision Records and Bemba, his latest baby with Nigan, to organize really unique and creative parties in Sherbrooke & Montréal.

Currently residing in Sherbrooke, Quebec 2019, Risa is co-founder of 3 different projects: Digital Station Collective, dedicated to the Reggae & Dub sound system culture, Onderground, strong since 2016 working on promotion of underground House & Techno and subgenres, and finally Bemba, a newborn organization promoting downtempo music, Slow Techno and electronic folklore music, notably during parties where senses are made fun of, while mind-travelling to different sound.
