NIGaNNicolas, aka Nigan, is a DJ and a stage & experience designer from Sherbrooke, Québec, co-founder with Risa of the Bemba collective, and part of the Cosmovision Records family.
After traveling to festivals like Burning Man and Symbiosis in the US, or the far away Festival Nomade in Chile, he decided to take back home the concept of transformational events. This is when the Bemba collective was born. Their vision: to promote conscious celebration during events in which he would create stimulus for all 5 (6?) senses.

They purposely chose Downtempo/electronica as the musical core of their parties: it is the ideal genre to use in order to make a fully immersive experience through the variety of instruments, sounds, samples and field recording you find in these tracks. According to Nigan, the opposite is also true: you could not access to the full potential of the music without proper stimulus for your 4 other senses.
When it comes to DJing, Nigan sees it as an exploratory adventure, crafting musical journeys to make listeners travel around the world and into their own mind void. Slow, psychedelic, deep, groovy and folkloric, the music he carefully selects aims to make you trip, dance and chill. |
His musical exposure began in high school, playing the trompette in his school's wind orchestra and jazz band. During that time Nigan was mainly freeskiing as a hobby and later started to work in that industry.
"Music in the freestyle ski and snowboard is major, it’s in the movies, during comps and rail jams, we listen to music many hours a day many days a week." Heavy knee injury, one passion put on the side, and Nicolas starts becoming Nigan, whose passion for music and stage design became clearer as extreme sports practice was not advised in his condition.
