WaterballetAfter studying at the art academy in Holland, Kamiel started creating underwater landscapes in a aquarium, to express his music in a visual way. By using different materials, colors, playing with fluids and density, synchronized with deep bass, ethereal syncopated rhythms and millimetered synthesizers, Waterballet creates another reality, filled with bubbles, fumes and organic bodies, moving in a different gravity.
"My work predominately focuses on the balance of sound and visuals that construct specific feelings and atmospheres, submerging the viewer in an abstract audiovisual landscape. I am fascinated by the contrast of nature and toxicity." Waterballet - Barbapapa from Waterballet on Vimeo. Recently he bought a new camera, allowing him biggest close-ups on objects. More weird details to play with!
" A new macro world opened up to me! Im now discovering new techniques and new combination of materials." He also likes to expand to different projects, like recently with fashion designer Iris van Herpen, where he used abrics of her dresses as material for his video. |
